Biodiversity within freshwater ecosystems is examined in relation to a gradient ofloadings of nutrients and of the chemical composition of organic matter to these ecosystems.These changes were also examined in relation to hypothesized shifts in ecosystem resilience orrelative stability, that is, the rate at which a property or the system approaches steady state followinga perturbation.
