Assessment of Cyanotoxins in Florida's Surface Waters and Associated Drinking Water Resources. Final Report.

Cyanobacteria are prevalent components of Florida’s surface fresh and estuarine watersand are known to produce toxins that have been linked to liver disease, kidney damage,genotoxicity, human cancer, and death. Upon “bloom” formation these events may posea threat to public health when observed in recreational and/or drinking water supplies.
